Rod Loewer | President & General Contractor
From humble beginnings of working construction with his father in his teens, to owning his own cabinet shop, to later building multi-million dollar custom homes, our experienced builder has a vast expanse of knowledge and an astute awareness for detail. Working as a Portland Fire Fighter for 30 years, Rod has also learned the art of time management and the value of hard work. His understanding of the importance of safety makes him thorough and detailed on every job. If we could choose one word to describe Rod it would be trustworthy. Or hard-working. Or maybe reliable– okay, so we can’t choose just one…
Gina Loewer | Vice President & Lead Designer
Every all-star team has a wild card. Meet Gina, our fearless designer with an edge. Gina’s expertise has come from many walks of life, such as owning her own interior decorating and design business, or later working side by side with Rod as Northland grew. Inspired by her own experience of cooking countless football dinners for her sons’ teams, Gina has a natural intuition for what it takes to create a functional, well-operating kitchen with practical traffic flows. Her awareness of local, modern design and experience from european travels are constantly inspiring Gina’s keen eye for cutting edge design– from the rustic tones of Tuscany to the industrial flare of downtown Portland. But beware! her passion for design is contagious. You may find yourself having way too much fun while working with her.
Alyssa Banner | Designer
As one of our head designers, Alyssa’s job description includes anything from meeting with clients about details of their project to consulting with our in-house drafters in order to develop conceptual and technical drawings. A gal all about design details, Alyssa follows projects from start to finish, constantly communicating with clients to meet their needs– a place where her BA from PSU in Communications comes in handy! But perhaps Alyssa’s greatest expertise comes from her experience working in one of Portland’s most prominent countertop and tile showrooms– also where she first met our head designer, Gina! Having started as a humble Design Consultant, Alyssa worked her way up to Showroom Manager in just six months– a clear indicator of her vast knowledge on countertops, quartz, tile, and more. With Alyssa’s ability to educate clients on details such as which countertops will hold up to a busy family over the years or what tiles are the most slip-resistant, making them ADA friendly, we find her expertise here at Northland invaluable. But while we could go on about Alyssa, we can’t forget to mention her other half– a 9-year-old happy black labby named Echo (you can bet Echo was quickly welcomed into the Black Labs Club at Northland HQ).
Jamie Fujita | Project Coordinator
Though a new face here at Northland, Jamie isn’t new to us altogether. Believe it or not, we first met Jamie when he was fresh out college, having earned his Bachelor’s in Exercise Science from George Fox University. A personal trainer at the time, Jamie got to know Rod and Gina while working at their local gym. However, having worked construction with his dad in his teens, Jamie later left personal training for a career in Disaster Repair (aka fire and water restoration), where he spent 6 years learning project management, estimating, mitigation, customer relations, and so much more. Jamie’s experience has made him an expert at communication, meaning he’s able to efficiently mediate between the varying teams within a company. For us, that means Jamie is the go-between for the design and build sides of things. This communication ensures both teams are coordinating all aspects of your project as effectively as possible! As if these qualifications weren’t enough, Jamie’s also an avid Spartan racer, having recently completed his first Ultra race (that’s over 30 miles and 60 obstacles through the mountains!). Being newer to our team doesn’t stop Jamie from feeling like family. In fact, he really is family– in 2018 he married the bosses’ daughter! But perhaps more importantly, Jamie is also dog-dad to Olive and Otis.
Judy Paul | Accountant
Judy, was hired as our new in-house accountant, or as she calls it, a “historian– documenting the history of all things financial.” After earning her degree from Oregon State, Judy worked in Boston for a large accounting firm. Taking a bit of a break to move back to Oregon and to raise her family, Judy returned to accounting at a firm in Portland before coming to Northland. She also handles the books for a popular local coffee shop in Newberg. But Judy doesn’t spend all her time with her head in books! She also loves to garden, compost, ride horses, and hike whenever she can, especially if it’s in the Mt. Hood area. One summer, Judy’s love for adventure took her to Israel where she participated in the excavation of a biblical site! Last of fun facts about Judy, but of course not least, is… you guessed it! She’s a dog person. In fact, when we asked her that question she responded with a quote from Edith Wharton: “My little dog– a heartbeat at my feet.” Judy’s little heartbeat is a Havanese named Winston.
Keegan Loewer | Field Tech
Taking after his father and grandfather, Keegan has been in construction since his teens, working for Northland since he was in high school. This has given him an arsenal of experience in all things construction–from laborious demolition to delicate finishing touches. Keegan is more than just a simple laborer–he does everything, including prep for subs, framing, carpentry, painting, and whatever else we ask. He’s our go-to guy to get things done. Keegan’s compliant demeanor brings composure and efficiency to the Northland team, and establishes confidence in our clients. Whether you need him to install a new refrigerator or climb into a creepy crawlspace with a tiny flashlight, he’s your man! And if you have a dog on the job he’ll always be sure to scratch its belly or throw the ball for it during the workday–no questions asked.
Brian Loewer | Field Tech
Second of the Loewer sons, Brian’s considered one of our Renaissance men out in the field. With experience in construction since his teens, plus working for a few years at a hardwood distributing company, Brian’s knowledge on jobsites makes him one of our lead foreman. While Brian may be an expert in many aspects of the construction process, his expertise and attention to detail on painting projects are hard to match! With an eager attitude and hard work ethic inherited by his parents, Brian makes for an integral part of the construction team.
